When we saw Miike Snow on the EW list it raised a few questions, until we saw their reasoning. They seem to imagine providing tunes and production for stars like Britney Spears, Madonna, Kylie Minogue and Jennifer Lopez is enough to warrant inclusion of the Miike Snow collaboration in a best of the year list.
We disagree. The singable songs are there but the passion and craft that the vocalists mentioned above can bring is totally missing on the self-titled first album Miike Snow. A pity. We understand the appeal of their style but the male vocals lack the power and range of most chart-topping female vocalist nowadays. Just play a Yeah Yeah Yeahs song after a Miike Snow one to hear the difference. Our rating: 2 Stars

Alexandra Burke has the record for the fastest-selling download across Europe on its first day of release. Hallelujah sold more than 105,000 which beat the previous fastest download of 82,000 in one day — A Moment Like This by Leona Lewis from 2006. By comparison, Take That sold less than 10,000 downloads of Greatest Day on its first day.
