Evan Rachel Wood has 10 years of experience in the movies, with some notable roles. However, music has been a strong undercurrent in her life and she is working on her first album.
Following her strong role as the daughter of Mickey Rourke's character in The Wrestler (winner of the Golden Lion Award for Best Film at the Venice Film Festival), Wood has roles in forthcoming Woody Allen's Whatever Works and a role as Anne Bronte in Bronte. Wood is also well-know for her role in Thirteen.
Following on from the 2007 musical film Across the Universe, in which she sang 6 songs, Wood and co-star Jim Sturgess are working on the Broadway production of a Spider-Man musical adaptation. Music for the show was composed by Bono and The Edge of U2.
Wood says the production is "going to be huge. All the new technology they're using, the songs - it's going to be pretty breathtaking." The music appeals as well, as they're original songs: "it kind of gave us more freedom and I got to work closely ... and kind of make them my own."
